Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-range contactless communication technology.
The Near Field Communication is implemented on standard on almost all smartphones and it is estimated that there will be nearly 3 billions units in the world by the end of 2023.
Security first !
The NFC therefore allows communication between two compatible devices at short distance (10 cm maximum) which provides a certain security.
In addition, encryption and data encryption make it ideal for contactless payment applications.
The NFC makes possible to communicate between the devices without any configuration, unlike the Bluetooth which requires that the 2 devices recognize and connect (this is called pairing).
Jointly launched by Sony and Philips, the NFC is well on its way to surpassing the success of the Compact Disc (CD) fruit from their previous collaboration.
NFC technology on Sensolabo data loggers is at the cornerstone of the new age of temperature monitoring !
